New features: Group Privacy and Custom Domains

Published: 12:45 PM Apr 27th, 2009

Hi there fellow Groupies,

We released some new updates to GroupieGuide yesterday.

  1. Group admins can now password-protect their group. By clicking on the Privacy tab, they can set a shared password that will give group members access to their group’s site. Without knowing the password, your group’s site is inaccessible.
  2. Custom domains. You can use your own domain for your group’s site. By giving your domain a CNAME of “groupieguide.com”, you can have your own website like http://meetups.fixieconsulting.com. If you don’t know how to setup a CNAME for your domain, contact your domain registrar (the company you bought your website from).

This looks awesome!

I created my own site last week and have had really positive response about the email notification and response feature -- is there any way to get these emails in digest form? Also, as the administrator, how can I see a list of my subscribers? Thanks!

It's sounds so good... but what about the disk space? is it unlimited? or if not, then how much? and about bandwidth? Is it support any program for webmasters? I mean to say that, is there any way so that users can create groups in (or under) sopnilbhubon website (powered by groupieguide)?

I think, there should be a user sign-up/sign-in system for group members... so that they can join the group and collaborate and send mails each other...

We need to make sure you're human :)
